Academia BJJ — Beamsville, Ontario

Gianni Grippo is coming to Beamsville, Ontario for an exclusive seminar at Academia BJJ — a rare opportunity to learn from one of the most respected technicians in modern Jiu-Jitsu without leaving the region.

Gianni has competed at the highest levels of the sport for over a decade, spanning multiple eras of Jiu-Jitsu. He came up during the shift from traditional guard passing to the modern leg-entanglement game — and built a system that allows him to pass, pin, and finish without unnecessary exposure.

This seminar will be taught using a Constraint-Led Approach (CLA) — a learning method built around structured games rather than memorized sequences. Instead of chasing steps, you’ll be placed into realistic problem-solving scenarios that force better decisions under pressure.

What You’ll Work On

  • Passing without exposure
Advancing position while denying leg entries and lower-body threats.
  • Pinning that progresses
Turning control into pressure, and pressure into inevitability.
  • Submission pathways
Finishing sequences with an emphasis on katagatame systems, one of Gianni’s most refined specialties.
  • A connected game
Clean transitions from passing → pinning → submission, without gaps.

Seminar Structure

  • ~2 hours of CLA-style technical games
  • Open Q&A
  • Live rounds to immediately apply the concepts

This is not a highlight-reel seminar.
It’s a thinking seminar — designed for athletes who want a safer, smarter, longer-lasting game that holds up under real resistance.

For anyone within driving distance of Niagara, Hamilton, Burlington, or Toronto — this is a can’t-miss opportunity.
